Courtney Marie Martin, born March 26, 1985. Grew up in the small beach town, New Smyrna Beach, on the east coast of Florida. Courtney was raised to be a water baby, she is the product of two amazing parents who taught her the art of fishing and surfing at a very young age. Courtney has been fishing since the day her parents put a rod and reel in her hands, starting out as a surf, flats, and kayak fisherman in her stomping grounds of Mosquito Lagoon. Later in life she dabbled in offshore fishing a bit, though her heart still belongs to the flats and fly-fishing. Courtney’s thirst for art began at a young age with silly cartoonish doodles on any blank canvas she could find, consisting of; random local’s surf and skateboards.

In her teens she developed a certain style to her craft, and in the last couple years she has fine-tuned her technique and been categorized as a multi-medium folk artist. All of her art work is freehand, she is self-taught in multiple mediums from; acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, mosaic glass/tile work, pottery, photography, furniture restoration, pyrography, and most recently wood working. Her creations are inspired by the ocean, her undying love for nature, and the outdoors. Courtney’s style is remarkably unique, and with no formal training in art, she is an artist who learns only by trial and error. Once shy about her art, Courtney was pushed forward by the support of her family, friends, and coworkers. She started Ohana Creations in August 2010. Courtney’s strong values on family, friendship and her dad’s Hawaiian dakine style helped her come up with the name. “Ohana means family, and family means no one is left behind or forgotten”, this is the motto that she lives by. Courtney has been in the fire service since 2004, she recently left the fire service, as Firefighter Paramedic fulltime after 13yrs of service, to pursue her art career. She currently runs a Maverick MA21 in Englewood, FL where she resides part-time, when she's not working in Northern Georgia, Tennessee, or the Carolina's. Courtney is also the Southeast Regional ambassador with Temple Fork Outfitters, Galvan Fly Reels, and Royal Wulff.
